I would say this has been one of my favorite assignments this semester! I got the chance to interview entrepreneur/philanthropist Catie Ball. I have known Catie for the past year or so and I immediately knew she would be the person I would want to interview.

Catie was born and raised in Santa Maria and moved to Fresno to pursue her degree. While at Fresno State she was involved in The Entrepreneur Mentor Program which helped her start her business, Honeydoo’sCookie Co. She bakes cakes, cookies, breads, and cinnamon rolls, and almost always has holiday sales apart from her day to day business. When she was little she knew that she would eventually want to open up her own bakery. She has the support of her family, mentor, and professors. Catie has met her current goals and is currently working towards an updated website, more event packages, and incorporating deserts that are gluten-free, vegan, or free of refined sugar. Although she has been successful, she definitely shared some of her troubles starting a business. For starters, she bakes her cookies the morning of so they are fresh (& super soft!). But, she is limited on her oven space and often pulls all-nighters. From the baking, grocery shopping, cleaning, and delivering she does everything herself. Lastly, it is up to her to make important decision that would work for her business. Apart from her business which keeps her busy, she recently went on a mission trip to the Philippines. Catie’s personal purpose was to do the Lord’s will. She feels she has been blessed throughout her life and it is would be selfish not to tell others about him.

I definitely enjoyed interviewing Catie and getting to know her better. Without a doubt, she represents the role of an entrepreneur-philanthropist.

Do not be afraid to reach out and order some delicious treats! You won’t regret it! Here are a few places she can be reached at:
