Fresno Metro Ministry is excited to share a unique* opportunity to elevate
low-income community residents with food-based business ambitions.*

With initial funding from the Kresge Foundation FreshLo Program, over the
next eight months, Fresno Metro Ministry/Better Blackstone will be
launching the *What’s Cooking Fresno? Local Food Business Management &
Entrepreneurship Incubator Program* to prepare aspiring chefs, food
entrepreneurs, and food management professionals for local business and
employment success. The program is designed and funded for residents from
low-income neighborhoods who aspire to advance in food-based business
careers but have been excluded from and/or are ineligible for mainstream
training, support, and economic development opportunities.

What’s Cooking Fresno? is looking for qualified community members with
demonstrated interest and a strong passion for food industry careers and
entrepreneurship. This is an opportunity for your organization to refer
potential community cohort participants, so we can invite them to one of
three facilitated dinner meetings in February:

· *Central Fresno: Thursday, February 8th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm*

· *Southeast Fresno: Tuesday, Feb 13th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm*

· *Southwest Fresno: Wednesday, February 21st from 5:30 – 7:30 pm*

The purpose of these gatherings will be to learn about the What’s Cooking
Fresno? Incubator program and explore ways for interested aspiring
entrepreneurs to get involved and take on leadership roles in the project.
We will be highlighting partnering organizations referring candidates
ultimately enrolled in the inaugural cohort. Only 12 candidates will be
selected for the first year-long pilot cohort.

*Please provide us with names and contact info of those eligible community
members you would like to recommend for this opportunity. We will keep you
informed and connected as we progress with cohort formation and program
activities. *

We will be following up with you in the next couple of days.
