This was my first real exposure to “planned giving”. When I thought of planned giving, the first thought in my head was something left in a Will of a deceased person, setting aside a certan amound of funds for a certain organization or program. It was a lot of information to take in but I left the classroom feeling like I am more aware of what donating, planned giving, and philanthropy in general is. How it benefits the donor almost as much as the orgranization receiving the money, almost like a tax loophole, though it encourages the money to be given to organizations that serve the community. Overall,  one of the more informational and interesting lectures of this past semester. Relationships seemed to be the overall focus of the semester, where this lecture/activiy focused more on the legal aspect of giving.
