I had never been to Warnor’s Theatre before, so I was blown away by our visit. The building is beautiful and full of history. We should all appreciate the work being done to maintain the theatre. Our class learned just how much it takes to maintain Warnor’s Theatre. The overhead was unbelievable. I feel like I learned a lot about the business side of maintaining a building such as the Warnor’s Theatre. A lot of planning goes into any single event, down to when the AC needs to be turned on. And nothing is free! The board has come up with many ways of generating funds for the building, such as using the other two venues attached to the theatre, renting spaces for shops, and working with the acts the come through to run snack bars, or sell drinks. This organization is exactly what our class is about; entrepreneurial approaches to sustainable CBOs.
