It was really great to get a chance to see Playland and Storyland. I remember visiting the parks as a child, but I have not been back since. I, like many people, was under the false impression that the parks had become dilapidated and old. Barry Falke, the Executive Director, had emphasized the importance of changing peoples’ perception of the parks. He noted the importance of branding, which is not always something that is discussed within CBOs. Branding is important because if people tend to think negatively of an organization or they haven’t even heard of the organization, they are less likely to support the organization. I believe that if the staff at Playland/Storyland works to show people how the parks have improved they will increase their business.
